Eserv and Eproxy can use two different ways
of dialling:
- Through an external Edialer ringer
(http://www.enet.ru/win/etype/edialer/)
- Through a built-in dialling program. The Edialer allows visual
control and, if needed, management of the dialling process. The
built-in ringer operates “invisibly?and keeps record of events in
a log file.
If you want to use Edialer, download, install
and start this program before starting Eserv. In the Eserv
configuration, put a tick against UseEdialer in the section
Dialling. In the parameter ConnectionNameEdialer, enter the
connection name (from the directory Remote Access to Network) which
Eserv will be giving Edialer for dialling. The list of telephones,
the name and the password for dialling are set up in Edialer.
If using dialling with the help of a built-in ringer, all setup
has to be done in the Eserv/Eproxy configuration program. In the
section Dialling/Connection enter the name of the connection (from
the directory “Remote Access to Network? and click the Add button.
In the now visible section with the name of the connection, fill in
the Name and Password fields. Then go to the subsection Telephones
and create a list of telephones for this connection. To do this,
enter the telephone number (preceded by a P, if pulse dialling is
required) in the editing line and click the Add button. Similarly,
in the section Dialling/Connection you can specify the number of
connections in use. Eserv will try connections and telephone numbers
in each connection if previous dialling attempts have not been
successful.
The program managing dialling is implemented in Eserv/Eproxy as a
“Dialling Server? As an internal flow of the program, it accepts
inquiries for dialling from other flows (e.g. proxy) and external
programs (agents POP3RECV, NNTPRECV, SMTPSEND, etc.) and performs
dialling with the help of a built-in ringer or through Edialer.
